What does your handwriting say about your character?

Your manuscript is yourself, your psychological profile, personal stamp, ID card.

Your handwriting, whether you write with a ballpoint pen, felt-tip pen or fountain pen, is a way of communication and it is not unusual to read so much about a man’s character from a manuscript and signature, even what cannot be seen.

There are many parameters in the manuscript that will say something about you:

  • the way you write your name,
  • how much you separate letters and words,
  • how you connect the letter ‘o’ and the letter ‘s’ with words,…

Of course, it goes without saying that analysis must be done on a spontaneously written text. If you told someone that you wanted to analyze the text, they would get involved in the writing itself and would unknowingly mask some signs. One extensive study identified as many as 5,000 people based on manuscript analysis, susceptibility to various diseases, and even the veracity of the statement.

I have to admit that this research was quite fun for me, especially the small experiments I did on people, so if you are in the mood to learn more about it, and have fun like me, get your own, or someone else’s, hand a written note, someone’s postcard, invitation, letters and start the analysis.

Font size. The size of the letters in your handwriting speaks to your character, so if you write in small letters you are shy or withdrawn, thorough, precise and always focus on what you are doing. This kind of manuscript is often seen in educated people, who are often occupied with thoughtful actions.

The manuscript with very small letters speaks about people who have a complex of lower value, easily underestimate themselves and often withdraw into themselves.

With medium-sized letters, you are credited with adaptability and flexibility, composure, good behavior and you do not belong to the noisemakers.

The capital letters in the manuscript reveal a self-confident, extroverted person, who likes to be the center of attention, who has an active social life, direct and open. People with this kind of handwriting are verbal manipulators, tend to look down on people and are often dominant in society.

You can experience the size of a letter in someone’s handwriting as the pitch of someone’s speech.

Letter spacing. People who make bigger gaps between words and even words are freedom-loving and independent and do not enjoy the crowd too much in front of the audience. They need space, preserved integrity in every situation and relationship, time only for themselves, so these people occasionally need to be alone.

In contrast, smaller spaces between letters / words are made by people who can’t stand being alone, feel good in groups and when surrounded by a crowd, but are also potentially noisy, intrusive and conflicted.

Man is exactly the space he makes between his words: the more space he gives to his words and words, the more space he needs.

Slope of the word. If you belong to a group of people whose letters in the manuscript do not have a slope to the left or to the right, you are firm, pragmatic, logical and in life you are guided more by logic than by emotions. You hide your emotions and want to keep things under control.

If the letters lean more to your right, you like to make new acquaintances, you are sociable, emotionally warm, generous, affectionate, impulsive and passionate.

If your letters lean to the left, you prefer to stay aside, you prefer to deal with things than people, you prefer to work behind the scenes and you are not in a great mood for a story. You are a potential rebel. Research says that the opposite rules apply to left-handed people, which I would not agree with because…

..words bent in the direction in which the sentence is built simply rush to unite and fit into the word. This is how the author behaves in relation to the environment.

(In) uniformity. Whether your letters increase or decrease along the word will also tell about your character, but also the mood you are in while writing. People who write are uniformly reliable people, with pronounced self-control.

If your letters increase along the words you are an optimistic and energetic person but potentially emotionally immature.

If your letters are reduced along the word, you lack self-confidence and you are often in a convulsion and worried about something, but you are attributed spiritual maturity. In general, uneven letters indicate the instability of the person himself, when it comes to mood.

When a ballpoint pen instantly loses control of the letters in a row, you lose control of your thoughts and feelings.

Pressing the pen on the paper. A lighter or darker trace of a pencil will speak of more or less pressure during writing, but also a relief that you can feel under your fingers, on the back of the sheet.
Stronger pressure will tell you that you are energetic, loyal, but also that you take everything in life seriously. You have leadership skills. The stronger the imprint, the more he describes you as a tense person, who finds it difficult to accept criticism and easily gets angry.

A weaker trail, ie weaker pressure, makes you a sensitive and compassionate person, but on the other hand, it also says that you may be poorly vital.

A spasm of the hand on the pencil is a spasm of your nervous system.

Rounded or sharp letters. If your letters are more rounded, it will reveal your creative and artistic nature. You are a person who avoids conflicts and likes to please people.

Sharper letters will speak of intelligent, curious and ambitious people who successfully control their aggression. These people are their own best critics, they are patient with others but they are difficult for themselves.

The more sharpness in the letters – the more affections and interests.

Decorating letters. If you write letters with loops and long suffixes on the last letter of the word, you are communicative, you can easily express thoughts and feelings and you can easily open up to people.

If you write letters without any graphic additions, you are introverted and appreciate your own and other people’s privacy.

Longer lines in writing – along the tongue.

Letters with a “stomach”. You can write Latin B and P (Cyrillic B, R and C) with a weak stomach (B, P, R) and it will describe you as a person who reacts stressfully to many sudden situations in life and who tends to limit himself.

If your stomachs are rounded and expressed in these letters (B, P, R), you are spontaneous, relaxed and live life to the fullest.

Bigger stomach – bigger hedonist.

(Non) linking of letters. The connection of letters in words speaks about the way of thinking of the author. If you connect letters in words, then you belong to logicians, systematic people who rely on ratio, facts and experience when making decisions in life, and they are very careful. Conversely, if your letters in words are unrelated, you are imaginative, impulsive, and rely on intuition to make decisions. If you connect only a few letters in a word, impracticality is attributed to you.

The links between the letters are your connection to reality.

Margins. If you keep more margins on the left side, you tend to live in the past and find it difficult to accept some things and events.

If you stick to the right margin, you are in a constant rush towards the unknown and the future, and it is possible to subconsciously run away from your past.

If you write all over your mind constantly working, you can never sit still. Workaholics and intolerant people will fill the whole paper, while withdrawn people will use very little paper.

The humble will start to write quite low in relation to the beginning of the paper, the self-confident will leave a very thin unprinted space along the upper edge of the paper.

The left side of the paper is something that belongs to the past, the right side represents the future, the upper side is the social sphere, and the lower side is personal.

Writing speed. Fast writing is characteristic of the impatient, people who can’t stand being late and wasting time. Self-confident people, organized and methodical, write more slowly. Writing in block letters is also slower writing, which reflects the need for the author to hold the strings in his hands, and even to have control over others. These are concentrated people, who do not reveal all their cards and usually hide something big about themselves.

Faster onslaught on paper – bolder onslaught through life.

Capital letter. An arrogant and insincere person can be revealed by an extremely large initial letter, significantly larger than the other letters in a given word. In the English alphabet, this is especially important when writing the capital letter I (I). If your initial letters are the same size as the other letters in the word, that will attribute modesty to you.

The initial letters in the sentence and signature are your ego.

Loops and curls. With the Latin letter L, if the bend is narrow (l), you can limit yourself in different ways and be constantly under some kind of tension.

The wider bend, on the contrary, (l) speaks of a relaxed and spontaneous person, with a slight expression of his own personality, who has great dreams and hopes in life.

The narrow bend in the written letter E (s) will describe you as not too compassionate and skeptical of others, while the wider bend (s) will describe the person as a person who likes to explore and gain new experiences and as a person of open understanding, without prejudice.

Wider bend – wider horizon.

The letter ‘T’. The position and length of the transverse line at the letter T will also reveal part of your character. A side line at the very top (T) will reveal an ambitious, confident and optimistic person who sets high goals for himself.

The transverse line right in the middle of the vertical line (t) speaks of self-confident people who feel good in their own skin. All other positions put you in a group of people with a lack of security and who do not shoot high in life.

A long transverse line (T) will speak of you as a determined person and a great enthusiast but would also describe you as a stubborn person.

The short transverse line on the letter (T) speaks of a person who is difficult to initiate and persuade to take action, a lazy and indecisive person. So lazy that she hates to draw that line to the end!

The line on T is your goals and initiative.

The letter ‘O’. If you write the word ‘o’ just like that, like a full circle (O), you are a hopeless introvert, who does not easily share his opinion and privacy with others. If the word ‘O’ is open to you, with a twist, you are sociable, talkative, open to other people and easy to express your feelings.

Your circle is your intimacy.

Latin lowercase letter ‘s’. The way you print the lower curve of the letter s also speaks about your character. If it is rounded, you are not a conflicted person and you like to please people. The narrowly rounded lower curve (s) indicates an ambitious and curious person who likes to learn new things. If the curve is wide, you are not a person who follows your heart in any area of life.

The letter y. Cyrillic ‘u’ or Latin ‘y’, if you write with a narrow loop (y) it makes you selective in choosing the people you allow to approach you. Writing a wide loop (y) makes you a person with a large circle of friends. If you do not have a loop on your letter in (y) you are a strong person.

The position of the point on the letters ‘j’ and ‘i’. Imaginative people will put a point significantly above the letter (s) while a point very close to the letter (s) will be placed by well-organized, unambiguous people and details.

If the dot runs a little to the left (ij) in relation to the letter, it will reveal your indecisive side.

If you write a point as a circle (j) you are a visionary and have a childish nature. In general, the point that dominates the letter reveals an ambitious nature.

If you stretch the point so that it looks like a slash (s), you are an impatient person, too self-critical and intolerant of people who do not learn from their mistakes.

A small number of people who do not put an end to jii at all do not have clearly defined goals in life, do not pay attention to details and do not like to be exposed and stand out in the crowd.

Those who put a small straight line instead of a dot above the letter iij show a restless spirit and send a message that they are often in a hurry.

A long straight line instead of a dot above the letter iij, reveals a creative and intelligent person.

And those who put instead of the point of the heart… are in love J

Capital initial letter M. Until reading this text, I did not even notice how I write this letter. Different characters reveal the first and second moves when writing letters. Thus, if the first move of your letter M is greater than the second move (M) you have a healthy ego. If the second move is bigger than the first (M), it describes you as intuitive, pliable and not always aware of your values.

(In) legibility. The readability of your handwriting speaks to the way you communicate with your environment. People whose handwriting is illegible are difficult to understand and keep their privacy. It is often held by intellectuals and scientists, highly intelligent people.

Clear signatures are characteristic of people who feel good in their skin and do not have to pretend to be something they are not.

Frequency of puncture. Excessive use of punctuation, for example three dots, several consecutive questionnaires or exclamation points, speaks of you as an emotional person and may suggest an obsessive-compulsive person.

Truthfulness. A word or sentence that stands out in the whole text, in the sense that it is written differently, does not inspire confidence, that is, what is written is considered untrue. The same applies to a sentence in which the words are of unequal height. Persons whose letter O has two curls are considered pathological liars.

Psychophysical state. Apart from the character, the handwriting can say something with certainty about your health. According to research, the handwriting can also identify the level of energy you have, different pressures on the paper during writing may indicate high blood pressure in the author. Improper handwriting change during writing may indicate a predisposition to Alzheimer’s disease, while too few letters may indicate Parkinson’s disease. If the slope of the letters varies, from left to right or vice versa, it may indicate that you are dealing with a schizophrenic. Imagine working at a bank counter, for example, and knowing these facts you recognize handwriting well… a man comes to you in whose handwriting you recognize a schizophrenic and you should tell him that his money cannot be paid for technical reasons.

Signatures. As the text represents your inner self, the signature is your official self. The place on the paper where you put your signature will also speak about your character, as well as the deviation of the handwriting in the signature from the handwriting in the rest of the text.

Most people put their signatures on the right side of the paper, and they are people who accept society as it is, and they are adaptable in that sense.

The signature on the central part of the paper indicates egocentrism, which could still be confirmed by the size of the letter. These people are not formalists and do not respect some codes.

The signature on the left side of the list indicates modesty and unobtrusiveness.

The distance of the signature from the main text is also important. If the signature is markedly distant from the text, the person distances himself more from what he says about himself, and if the signature is closer to the text, the person stands firmly behind what he says or shows about himself.

If there is a noticeable difference between the written text and the signature, we are dealing with a person who wants to hide a part of his personality and does so by creating a different identity through the signature. This is how brave, self-confident people sign, without arrogant behavior.

Signing with full name and surname says that the author of the signature is kind, has strong attitudes, will, outlook on life, easily adapts to people and situations.

Signing where there is no similarity between the written name and signature reveals a person who wants to give the impression in fact he hides a lot about himself, his attitudes and also superficially listens and gets to know other people.

The similarity between the written name and the signature shows an intelligent, flattering and capricious person who often changes his opinion and attitudes, which is why he often acts recklessly.

And another small impression related to the analysis of the manuscript, writing in fountain pen (ink) is more credible because, ink reveals much more.
